Oxeppa asked Tracy Chevalier:

Sometimes we discover a work of art that particularly amazed us or intrigue us, I loved your books and I wonder why you chose The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries in particular, is it connected to a favorite of yours or to a choice made in the course of your research ?

Tracy Chevalier I knew the tapestries from my teenage years when I was crazy about unicorns. They hang in Paris and are truly amazing - well worth visiting (that can be your excuse to go to Paris). Then many years later I read an article about them that talked about their mysterious history and how no one knows who made them, exactly whom they were made for, or how to interpret them. Those mysteries appealed, and I thought I would try to answer those questions.
