I’ve only just realised from a trailer how very different Ammonite is from Remarkable Creatures. I was wondering how I could possibly have forgotten/misread your novel 😳 but thank goodness that isn’t the case. Ioved your book and was truly looking forward to seeing how it as a film. Now I understand why this film isn’t called RC! I’d still love to see RC on screen. Mini-series sounds great! Netflix pitch?

Hi Kathy
Yes, Ammonite is a different story from Remarkable Creatures. My book focusses much more on what Mary accomplishes scientifically, and also explores the power of friendship - a friendship that did exist, we know Mary and Elizabeth were friends, we have the letters. Ammonite is much more speculative. It will be harder to make a mini-series out of RC since Ammonite exists, but we're working on it!

Tracy Chevalier:
Hi Tracy! I've read all of your books and I absolutely loved them. Each one of them is a whole new experience and through the characters and situations you are able to involve and transport the reader into the story and specific places. So my question is: How do you decide what your next book will be about and once you have decided the central plot, how long does it lasts the investigation period?

I love historical fiction and I have recently discovered your books. I absolutely loved them! As I was reading Girl with a Pearl Earring, I noticed some stylistic similarities between you and author Lynn Cullen, especially her book "I am Rembrandt's Daughter". Have you ever come across with any of the works of Lynn Cullen? Thank you for your contribution to the genre!
