So, I absolutely loved the book, but needed so much more at the end! Will this be the first book in a series? Is there a follow-up planned? I think I would have given it 5 rather than 4 stars if I knew there was more coming :-)

Laurel I actually hadn't planned on a sequel, but now I find myself scribbling more. I can't quite leave the island.

If I finish it, there may be a prequel that explains something of the origin... Abigail's story, from her time on the island.

So we'll see...

Laura I love the prequel idea! Then we get more, but the end can stay filled with mystery.
Martha Meyer I think the answer is (after reading Laurel's response to this question, supplied by France Davis above) that you have to decide. You have to crawl into the story and supply the answer. Because the book is about who we become with our decisions, our choices. How will YOU choose? Not really how will you choose to end the book in your musings, but who you become as a result of struggling with the answer.
