Molly is my favorite character and one of her chapters is also my favorite chapter in any book ever - when she refers to John as "Meatsmell" I was actually crying laughing. So I guess thanks for creating my favorite fictional character :) I always thought it would be cool to have a short story about her - a day in the life kind of thing - would you ever consider doing that?
David Wong
If I ever left my day job at Cracked this is the type of thing I think I'd do from time to time - little short stories set in the JDATE universe featuring side characters and such. It's the kind of thing I could never justify doing right now - it would put me behind deadline on a book or take up work time at my day job. Feels like there are a ton of possibilities.

Hello, Jason or David or whatever the hell I should call you! I am in 8th grade and have a project due on may 4 (I procrastinated). I need some information about you! I promise I'm not a stalker. a few questions that I had: What influenced your writing style? What inspired you to write John dies at the end? That is about it. Loved your book and will enjoy sequels. Thanks for the help! That drawing was weird btw.

I write a good deal of scifantasyhumorror (not a real word/genre, but totally should be) and whatever i'm reading at the time seems to leak into what i'm writing. With that baseline laid: were you reading Steven King's "It", John Keel's "The Mothman Prophecies" and Grant Morrison's "The Invisibles" while writing your John and David stories? Some themes and stylistic content seem similar.

In Futuristic Violence there is a chapter where you describe a Korean girl who is sent back to Korea against her will in exchange for the Suit's freedom. Was that meant to be a red herring about the identity of the traitor? I assumed the girl was actually Echo at the time (until we learned a few chapters later that Echo is much too young to have been the girl). Also, loved the book!
