Peggy Hartfiel asked Michael J. Sullivan:

It appears that you aren't planning more Ryria for a really long time. The problem seems to be the time period, I mean you're saying that you could either write pre Ryria or post Ryria. ? My idea is this: You have written about some of their adventures in a particular time period but they must have had more within that time. They weren't always involved in world changing events.

Michael J. Sullivan Hey Peggy,
I'm not sure where you got the impression I'm not "planning any more Riyria for a really long time." I just finished (on May 18th) The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter, which is the 4th Riyria Chronicle.

Now, what is true is I'm cautious about the pair overstaying their welcome, so I don't know if there will be a "next" book until I publish the "last" book and feel the pulse of the readership. If people want more, I have plenty of stories to tell. I just would rather have the pair "leave early" than "stay too long."

As for whether pre or post. I've always said that I like the way Revelations "wraps up" and as such I'm not anxious to "tack on" and ruin what I think was a really good ending. That's why all the "subsequent" books have been prequels (The Crown Tower | The Rose and the Thorn | The Death of Dulgath | The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter). That said, I do have some ideas for a book (or series) that could happen "post-Riyria" but I have a few other things to work on first. Next up is a "bridge" series that occurs 1,000 years before Riyria and 2,000 years after Legends. It basically tells the tale of the fall of the Empire and gives the backstory for Esrahaddon, Jerish, and Nevrik.

Yeah, I could certainly do a book that exists in the same timeline as Riyria Revelations, but I have no shortage of ideas for new stories.
