I've just finished Kings of the Wyld, thought it was a really great read! I know you've mentioned before that your inspiration was treating Heroes/Adventurers like Rock Stars, and that really shows. When I was reading it though, mainly because of my own background, I was getting a really heavy (and awesome) 'D&D' vibe... I was wondering if you're a Tabletop player/DM yourself? And, if so, was it an inspiration at all?
Nicholas Eames
Hey Shaun! You're right--I've played a ton of D&D, and yeah, I'd say it played a pretty huge influence on the book. I certainly used a lot of classic monsters in there, and threw in a few form games I've DM'd that were old favourites, like the ettercap they run across in the Heartwyld.
Thanks for the question! And for reading my book in the first place!

Hi, Nick (if I may call you that). Just finished Bloody Rose and I was thoroughly impressed. Such a great read. Chapter 43 (without giving anything away) was some of your best writing to date, and one of my favorite chapters of anything I've ever read. Now, every author's least favorite question -- What's next? The Band Book 3? Something else? Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it!

Hi Nicholas, I loved KotW and I've just discovered the soundtrack for it on your website which has inspired me to pick it up again - really enhancing the experience second time around. Have you got plans to provide something similar for Bloody Rose? Thanks for doing what you're doing! Jack

Hi! I greatly enjoyed both KotW and Bloody Rose and I'm very grateful you've written them. Both managed to balance the humour with the gut-punching sadness very well in my opinion. I've got 2 questions: a) How far along are you with Book 3? and b) What is it with druin, that despite their advantages they all die? I really liked Freecloud ;_;
