Disturbing documentary series. I'm watching one right now called FORGOTTEN PLANET. Each episode focuses on two ruined, abandoned cities or towns and the disaster that brought them to that point. I'm obsessed. I've literally come up with a story idea for every place they've covered. It's addictive. Much of the inspiration for LIGHT BEFORE DAY came from watching a one-hour special about the Zodiac killer. These specials are never stunning in their accuracy, but that's sort of the point. The huge gaps in their research gives me something to fill in with my crazy ideas.

Christopher - I read your novel THE VINES and is scared me to death - in a good way. It got me hooked, and I just finished BONE MUSIC, which I also loved. Keep writing amazing stories! My question is do you have a "process" for your writing (i.e., writing x number of hours per day, or doing a story outline and then chapters in order, or?)?
