Cursed Herondale

Mark Lawrence:
Hi! I haven't read any of your book yet but I'd love to read ALL of them! My question is, are your three series connected to each other? Like are they of the same universe? (like MCU or Riordan's Camp Half Blood) and if so, do I have to read them by series, like The Broken Empire first, followed by The Red Queen and Book Of The Ancestor after? or do I have to read them alternately based on the succession of events?
Mark Lawrence
Red Sister (First Book of the Ancestor) is a whole new thing, unconnected.
Prince of Thorns (#1 The Broken Empire) & Prince of Fools (#1 The Red Queen's War) are set in the same empire at the same time and overlap to a small degree. The two trilogies can be read in either order but there is a small advantage to starting with Prince of Thorns, unless you don't get on with dark and violent fantasy, in which case jump to Prince of Fools.

I really love the Broken Empire series when i first read them! It was so good how you described the way Jorg felt like maybe its because i'm a teenager that i could say most of the thoughts and feelings are relatable. I decided to analyze Prince of Thorns and write my essay on it to get my diploma. I hope you can help me out! Is there any way that i can contact you to ask questions regarding the novel? Email perhaps?

Hey Mark, I was wondering about the summaries of earlier events of the series that you write in your books. Is this something difficult to do, or tedious or for some other reason unpleasant? I'm trying to understand why so few other authors do that. It's such a simple, yet great thing. I cannot express how lost I sometimes feel when an author demands that I remember everything in detail after a year (or 3 or 5)...
