What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Jan Christensen I actually did use a real-life mystery in my first published novel, Sara’s Search. One character came down with a strange medical condition which turned out to be the very rare one my daughter contacted back in 1985. Over a dozen doctors saw her before one recognized what she had because he’d seen it before. In the novel, it didn’t take that many to figure it out. I’m sure the readers appreciate that. And even though that all sounds rather grim, the novel is filled with quirky characters and humor
