Hey Katie! I love your work, but you know that. Do you plan to continue writing fantastical fiction for the foreseeable future, or are you interested in writing realist fiction as well?

Katie Coyle Hi Dawn! I am not opposed to realist fiction in theory--I read a lot of it, but I seem unable to write it without a ghost suddenly appearing and haunting the shit out of everybody. The book I'm currently writing is very fantastical, and when I look down the line of hypothetical projects, I just see an endless stretch of witches, talking hummingbirds, time travel, spaceships, and mermaids. So I guess we'll see!
