I have the privilege to serve as an elected prosecutor so I see crime fiction plots and even some mysteries every day. It has been my experience that true crime is so senseless, mean and horrific that it has to be reordered to make it bearable, especially for entertainment. I am starting to believe that is what we look for in a good mystery to bring order to a world that we know is chaotic.
