Goodreads asked Robert Dodds:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Robert Dodds Probably the most intriguing mystery in my life is how about ten percent of my socks end up as orphans. They go happily into the washing machine as pairs, and they emerge bereft and partnerless. It's like the Bermuda Triangle in there. As the plot for a book it's a little thin, but one could imagine an evil sock-eating washing machine - perhaps in cahoots with a posse of other delinquent white goods. 'Revenge of the Microwave'? 'The Devilish Dishwasher'?
