did anyone watch the series? If so, what did you think? I think they could've left out Madeline's affair. Plus, I felt the ending was weak. I started watching the series first, and loved it, so then I read the book (had seen 3 or 4 of the episodes), and finished it before the last 2 episodes. I don't mind how they changed the characters, but adding the affair was unneccesary. (too many other things going on)

Celeste and Jane's stories (plus a few others) are brought into highlight by the fact that Madeleine is very normal, even though she thinks she isn't. Also, her marriage is too good for her to even consider it.

I read that Reece Witherspoon thought Madeleine was not interesting enough, and wanted to zoop her up. Pity, because I think Madeleine is the centre of the story, and deserves better.(less)
