Do you need to read the series in order? I happen to have a copy of the Chosen Prey but I suppose it's the 12th book in line; if I decide to skip out the rest of the novels prior to it, will it still make sense? Or will I be missing out on some vital information?

Then a few years ago, I began to ask, "How did [whoever] get to where we see him today in this novel?" I started to read each series from the beginning - and enjoyed them even more. Now I read all series in publishing order if at all possible. After-all the author writes them in that order.(less)
