What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Lurlene McDaniel First of all WRITE! Write poems, music lyrics, blogs, but write. Keep a journal, not just about what you do, but how you feel and what you feel and why you feel the way you do. Get inside the feelings, it will help when you create characters for novels. Use descriptive phrases, be original, clever. Know your craft! Grammar and syntax matters. Sentences you create must make sense and be well written. Read! Don't copy your favotrite authors, but dig into their work and see how they put a story together. Take a writing class if possible. Read how-to write books, but most of all, keep writing.
