Goodreads asked Vee James:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Vee James I've been journaling almost daily since 1998. Like a runner going out for a jog, it's become second nature to know how to get going, even under bad conditions. I have rules for myself and do a pretty good job sticking to them. That's the learned part of the self-discipline.
As for actual prose writing, as opposed to just "what's on my mind" writing, I find that when I sit and read what I've written so far on a project, I get creative and inspired to do more, to push the story along.
When the story really takes off, I can't write fast enough!
