Is there a reason any reason why you chose Frank Sinatra as R's musical artist of choice, or was that something that just sort of popped in your mind? Weirdly enough, it was one little thing in the book I just adored, maybe because the thought of a zombie loving a singer who sings such romantic music like Sinatra is weirdly endearing in its own way.

What you just said was half of it. There was just something unexpected and sweet about it. But the "in-universe" explanation is that R is drawn to remnants of a brighter, simpler time when there was more to life than survival. To me, Sinatra epitomizes that whimsical "golden age," that innocent joy with a hint of naiveté that encapsulates R's idea of what it's like to be Living.

So since this massive tome you've produced has now been split in two, can I ask which book we were reading in the extract at the end of The (new) New Hunger? AND what does this mean for your book promotional jaunt? Are you going to be locked away editing for another year, or do we get to pester you for autographs and buy you beer? AND (most importantly), where does that leave your other projects, shorts and music?
