Jeff Wheeler Wow, lots of questions here. Let me try to answer them for you. When I was writing this series, my sister (who is my 'earliest reader') wanted Jayn to have a happy ending. The mention from Collier at the end was just a nod that something good will happen to her but I deliberately left it vague. I'm not planning on revealing anything about Collier's brother or Maeg. They end where they end. Why didn't Maia get to see her mother one last time? As I wrote in the author's note, part of Maia's life is based on the true history of Mary, daughter of Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon. She never got to see her mother either and it made her, to me, a more sympathetic character because of it. Why did Argus have to die? Because the Kishion had enough scars, thank you, and he knew he couldn't reason with him. You aren't the first reader who really wish I didn't do that. Sorry!
