How did you go about your research process for writing Lilac Girls?

Lots of research as you can imagine. I traveled a lot--to Poland, Germany and France and spent a lot of time at Caroline's house. I also spent time at the US Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. where she also has archives and in Paris.

Thank you for liking my review of Lilac Girls. It didn't do your book justice. I found it TOTALLY engaging from start to finish. As an archivist & historian, halfway through I thought "wonder if this is based on a true story?" Imagine my great surprise & glee when I discovered that it was not only based on a true story, but also a Connecticut story. Thank you for gifting us with such a great read!

I loved Lilac Girls and I'm glad to hear there's another book on the way! My debut novel, Kelegeen, was released on March 1, 2018. I'm with a small publisher so I have to do most of the marketing myself. I've just begun research for the sequel, but finding little time for it with all the marketing obligations. Any suggestions for balancing the two while also working a 9-5 day job?
