Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Nicola Niemc It wasn't so much the idea that came to me, it was more the characters. I started thinking what would it be like to be rich and successful but have absolutely no connection to life or other people. Robert Taylor, the male protagonist, didn't so much walk into my imagination; he collapsed, stinking of whisky, cigarettes and loneliness. His counterpart is Lexi Seymour, equally lonely but perhaps more self-sufficient and adept at hiding this loneliness. I just knew these two characters had to fix each other, or shatter in the attempt.
