Lily Duncan asked P.C. Cast:

I'm an upcoming writer that loses focus really fast, I get lazy and stop writing but the ideas are still in my head eager to be written out, my max number of words in my stories are 3000 and lower. How do I motivate myself to write more? How do I motivate myself to write my ideas? Should I stop counting my words? Should I write less words? Your opinion would be highly appreciated.

P.C. Cast No one can tell you how to motivate yourself to write. You have to figure that out yourself. If you can't get past 3,000 words then being a novelist simply isn't in your future. I wanted to be a veterinarian, but when I worked at a vet clinic I realized I don't like poop and parasites, which means being a vet wasn't the right job choice for me. Being an author might not be the right job choice for you. I dedicate a post for aspiring authors, which you can find here: https://www.pccastauthor.com/blog/advice Some of my book recommendations might help. Best of luck to you!
