I am looking for a book for my eighth grade class. Would this be appropriate for 13-14 year olds in a school setting? i.e nothing graphic or explicit. p.s I should mention this is an eighth grade class in a private catholic school so the restrictions on reading material may be a little higher than public schools.

My 7th grader got ahold of it and while we ended up having some rather frank discussions about rape, sex and more, as a parent I would be livid to discover that this was assigned reading! I dislike the idea of banning books but I would hope this wouldn't even make its way into a middle school library!(less)
