I just finished listening to the audiobook of The Last Bookaneer and it was an absolute delight! I most enjoyed the distinctive personalities of the bookaneers, especially Kitten. Do you have any plans to center a future novel around a unique female protagonist such as her?

And really happy you liked Kitten! She was a very important character to me. Funny you should ask about a female protagonist, my new novel, The Dante Chamber, comes out May 29, 2018 and indeed has a female protagonist... in fact, in many ways the novel is an exploration of women in the story and in society. I hope you'll check it out and I hope you'll enjoy it if you do!

I am so thrilled that you have written this newest book as I read The Dante Club right after reading The Inferno in college. I had sent you an email and you wrote back the nicest response in return. I printed that response and showed my students, (I teach high school English) and I then created a project in which they had to read a book and write an email to the author. Why did you decide to write a sequel?
