On one hand, yes, a creator should make sequels in a timely manner. Timely being within a decade. People would probably be easier on the guy if he released a chapter or two from time to time, to show that he IS still working on it, or if he blogged about his experiences with the book.

On the other hand, he may just not have the creative resources to do it. Koontz is indeed prolific, and from what I've heard, he doesn't really get writer's block to the extent that it completely stops him from writing the story. But Ride the Storm might be an exception. Who knows?(less)
