Teresa I TOTALLY AGREE. The first thing I thought when asked what question to
ask one of my all time favorite writers is....When will you finish Chris Snow's story. Loved Odd Thomas was outstanding. and Huge fan of almost every book he has written. Need some closure on Chris Snow....please, please, please.
Lauren Mitchell THIS! I really want to know how the Chris Snow trilogy concludes--it's one of my favourites!
Rebecca yes we all want a new Chris Snow book, but remember this is art and it can't be forced, he has to write what his brain churns out. So all we can do is hope it churns out a new Snow book!
Dorothy Emry Every time I hear a new book is coming out form Koontz, I cross my fingers and hope it's one in the Christopher Snow series. I was excited when there was a small reference to those in one of the Odd Thomas books. (Don't remember which right now. Does anyone have the answer?) I took that as an indication that Snow is still on Koontz's mind but that timing isn't right yet. I'm confident he'll continue Snow's story when the time is right, which would be whenever Christopher Snow starts speaking to him again. Koontz has always said he lets the characters lead him as he writes!
Amanda Because not everyone wants to read the Chris Snow triology? Because this is what he felt like working on? Both valid answers.
Christopher Jones I know I'm late to the party, and ultimately I'm torn on the issue. I haven't read the Snow books, so keep that in mind.

On one hand, yes, a creator should make sequels in a timely manner. Timely being within a decade. People would probably be easier on the guy if he released a chapter or two from time to time, to show that he IS still working on it, or if he blogged about his experiences with the book.

On the other hand, he may just not have the creative resources to do it. Koontz is indeed prolific, and from what I've heard, he doesn't really get writer's block to the extent that it completely stops him from writing the story. But Ride the Storm might be an exception. Who knows?
GREG J. because Mr. Koontz is that prolific, that's why. he is the same guy who managed to put out the entire "maximum ride" series while continuing "odd Thomas" and "seize the night" while producing a virtual plethora of outstanding stand alone novels. i wouldn't worry too much about Chris Snow being neglected.
Robert Lambregts I see a lot of answers here, but for those who follow Dean Koontz on social media: He has stated that the rights of the Chris Snow books are with a publisher he doesn't want to publish the third book with.
The book may have been written long ago, but only Koontz knows this. Once he owns the rights to these books again, it will be published.
TJ Because it's a delicate distillation and getting it just right takes time.
Mike Marsbergen Can't force it. But I almost feel as though it'll be a posthumous book, or the final one he puts out, or something. Or maybe he won't even write it. Who knows but Dean Koontz?
ShadowsGathered Yes, thank you & amen! That was my first thought when I found out about this book (which was only just 20 minutes ago, don't know why I hadn't already heard about it). I don't mind a "new heroine" or a new trilogy, but dadgum! Please finish what you've been promising for at least 17 years. A completion of the Moonlight Bay series.
Bklyn I am with you on this as I have been waiting for the conclusion of this for years and years, before, Frankenstien, before Odd (whom I thought was going to kick off into Chris's final story with the hints he gave).

I love Koontz but fell off for a while due to the abandonment of Snow. I really want to know the end of his journey.
Vestelene I can't answer your "why", but am grateful for your post after wondering why he didn't finish the story created in "The Silent Corner". The Chris Snow Trilogy sounds GREAT - but for the frustration of being left at the altar by the author. The 'choose your own ending' concept doesn't appeal to me. Thanks for sparing me.
Michael Lloyd Add me to the agree-ers!
I can only re-read the Chris Snow books so many times a year, but I still love 'em.
This Jane Hawk series has a good start, but this is NOT a concept to be milked over more than 2 more books!

Dean K. - Write some Chris NOW. Or we will send nanites ...
:)
Theresa As an artist (or someone who likes to consider herself one), I do understand that it can be exhausting and a bit mind numbing to work continuously on the same project for a long period of time, especially when the creative part of your mind is constantly coming up with fantastic new ideas. If being a writer is anything like being a painter, I can imagine that many authors have multiple projects in the work at any given time and their only choice is to work on whatever that part of their brain is speaking to them about.
Thomas Bruso I've heard that his publisher did not like the second book in the trilogy series. Koontz has mentioned he'd taken a break from Snow to write other books. He also said that he'd write another Snow novel someday.
Hannah I read Chris Snow after I read Odd Thomas, and in a way, Odd feels like a finished Chris--his personality, his approach, and his mission of "going where I have to go" are all manifest in Odd. I am hoping for another Chris Snow as well, but oddly (no pun intended), I already feel the closure.
Sandra Jackson - Alawine Who is Chris Snow? I thought I had read all Koontz's books but either I have missed one, or he wrote it so long ago I have forgotten it.
Geri Lloyd-Jones So where is the competition? I bet it's not open to the UK :(
Jenny OH absolutely!!!
