Having only read two Maisie books so far, I enjoy her and the mysteries she solves. But I also really enjoy how she has studied body language and is somewhat metaphysical. I love that she solves the mysteries just by listening and being open to other people and experiences. My question is how did you decide to form her that way? I think it is very interesting and unusual. Thank you for your work.

Thank you for your question, Sharon. Those aspects of Maisie's character you describe came about "organically" - it just seemed to be an important part of her development as a person. I didn't "plan" those features - they just came to be part of the story as I was writing.
