Is there homosexuality in this book?

Matt Hiebert No, but it's still a really great book.
Sarah And so what if there was?
Brenda Ethier Good heavens....in this day and age people would actually not read a book if there was homosexuality in it??? (yes, my voice is going up an octave)
Ann Agreed, our nation has generally accepted culturally and normatively, homosexuality. Most of us do not object to homosexuality; all persons are created to live out their God given life to include their sexual orientation. It's the 'in your face', 'front and center', 'see me', 'feel me', 'hear me' message that is objectionable to some people. I wonder if Mary Ellen is asking if the work is constructed for the sole purpose of an 'in your face' advocacy of homosexuality? Because these works sabotaged by agendas, can overshadow the novel.
Jeanne No, there is not.
Robert Not much sex of any kind just basic teenage lust from a distance, though there was one disturbing scene (not homosexual).
Laura If there were, I'm sure the author would have handled that aspect as beautifully as he did all other relationships in the book.
Sarah I agree I don't think it matters whether or not there is homosexuality. However, there are valid reasons for asking a question like that. What if the person who posed to help someone find books with more diverse characters?
Robert Blumenthal No, and there is no bestiality, nuclear bomb attacks, transgender monopoly games, or other things you might object to. Or do you object to homosexuality, and what difference would it make if there was any in this book.
Debi G. Perhaps you're looking for The Kite Runner?
Nicole There isn't. The boys are best friends and one of the boys is infatuated with the pretty girl everyone is is infatuated with.
