A Goodreads user asked Lawana Blackwell:

Lawana, I received your book, The Widow of Larkspur Inn, on my Kindle and enjoyed it very much. But it became very interesting early on when you introduced us to Iris and Jewel. And then, near the end of the book, you briefly added Mr. Summers. Now my question is, how did you happen upon those names, which are not terribly common? The reason for my curiosity is because my name is Iris Jewell Summers. :)

Lawana Blackwell Hi Iris, good question! Names are a bit difficult; many times I'll change a character's name because the old one just doesn't fit his/her personality. Back when I wrote The Widow, I would actually go through the telephone book for inspiration. I learned since to get lists of names particular to the setting from the Internet. Thank you for your kind words about the book. So glad you're enjoying it!
