I play with paint instead. It used to panic me when I wasn't inspired to write or to paint, but I've learned that my creativity comes in waves. So unless I have a deadline coming up, I give myself some time to step away and do something unrelated. Then inspiration hits again and I'll spend ALL of my time writing or painting.
