Wow. Now I've heard of people saying (of sex) that they would RATHER be reading...but simultaneously?
yeah I mean....wont their partner get..uh..angry?i mean they want full attention,no?
How about an option for all of the above? I've done them all.
I used to read while walking, I've seen people around my city who do that too, and I had a teacher who would read walking all of the time. I think people think its dangerous (cars) or annyoying ("having" to avoid you) though I've found you can read and walk quite easily without walking into anyone. Now I read on the train, which is pretty boring.
I got hit when I was walking and reading...learned the hard way..and i'm so young..

Reading while getting an operation done oin my foot when I was 15. It helped distract me from what he was doing. Also reading in bed with a miniature oil lantern so mom wouldn't know I was reading until my sister found out and threatened to tell on me because she was afraid I would set the house on fire.

Hey, Brenda, that one beats my reading while being tattooed, and is also exactly the reason I do it - to distract from the pain.
well my weirdest way of reading was while i was trying to hide from my parents in the middle of the night in the attic or in the bathroom or in the back yard somewhere while our dogs were around so that they'd think i was just hanging around (this was during the day) LOL
I do lots of these but reading in the tub is a favorite. I just need to be careful that I don't doze off and drop my book or iPad or Kindle in the water. So far its only happened to books, thank God!

one more thing-- while being in the toilet and reading i always try to concentrate but i never can-- the questions are-- to pee or not to pee, to read or not to read and i always hesitate... LOL

In long line ups in Costco. I love my Sony ereader I usually have around three books I haven't read yet on it at any given time. Time would take years for each moment of waiting without it. I also knew someone who would brag about reading while she was driving on the highway, but I consider that to be criminally negligent.

Before the movie, I wasn't allowed to use my phone for light since it was in the cinema. Was only thinking about the book the whole way through though.

And reading on the monkey bars, in various positions, on a swing, reading in a tall tree, reading while grocery shopping, reading while cooking, reading while I clean, and reading while sitting under a table, though I must admit I haven't done that in a while.
Everywhere really but in the tub and on the toilet for sure.
One I didn't see was reading in a doctor's waiting room. I have to lug my book bag with me knowing there is a three hour wait in the waiting room and then waiting for the doctor himself. Get a lot of reading done that way.

Get a lot ..."this waiting around was one of the main reasons to upgrade my phone from a standard old fashioned Nokia to a big screen smartphone: now I can carry 200+ books around and the weight is negligible. Years ago I carried three volumes of Robert Jordan in my backpack for a 10 days hiking trip in the Alps. That's heavy.
