Lewis Cunningham Wow. This month is really hard. A lot of good stuff here. It really comes down to pandemics, symmetry or tesla for me (although the joy of x is a strong candidate). In the end, I think I have to go with symmetry.

Michael Definitely a tough vote. I had to go with Tesla (especially since I nominated it), but the books about Pandemic, and Electricity in the human body sound very interesting.

message 3: by Grace (new)

Grace See, all you guys are doing is making it so I have more books to get from the library. Some day they are going to baulk at having to buy all these science books hardly anyone but me checks out. =P

message 4: by James (new)

James Allen I am interested in reading about Nikola Tesla.

Lewis Cunningham Tesla is an incredibly cool bio. I've read quite a bit about him and his relationship with Edison. The story will really open your eyes about Edison. I guess since I've already read so much is why I chose symmetry. I've read less about that.

LOL. A few months ago I nominated a book and then voted for something else.

DeLene Beeland Spillover is amazing! I'm actually half way through it at the moment. Quammen is one of my all-time favorite writers. He has a way of presenting complex ideas with ease, and a good dose of witty humor.

Michael LOL. A f..."

Yea, I was actually very close to doing that myself..haha. Either way, I will have few more to add to my list now.

message 9: by Viorel (new)

Viorel Dan i want to know much more about Nicholas Tesla...about the way he thought...and how he arrived at all his scientific ideas... :)

message 10: by Kate (new)

Kate I've been meaning to read 'The Spark of Life' ever since I heard about it on the radio. Now I might actually get round to buying it - and even read it! Frances Ashcroft is such an interesting person.

message 11: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Theiss Smith Read Spillover prepublication and think it's the best book I've read on pandemics ever. Great research and judiciously but deliciously written. Quammen did his homework, visiting sites of past pandemics and meeting key scientists. He has a larger perspective and a pretty good theory about why pandemics are a problem for expanding populations in a globalized society. Maybe next month.
