I love my Kindle Paperwhite.

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my NookColor. But, will be updating it to a Nook HD+ soon... I hope. Can't wait. Bigger device and it's a tablet, so I can watch movies & stuff on it. WAHOO!

My main reason for getting my Kindle Fire HD was for reading and an occasional movie or two. If I were to get an iPad, I'd get it for the purpose of enjoying my iTouch games on a larger screen. I tried reading from an iPad, and I must say it is pretty tiring (eye-wise).

Scott trade, magazines, newspapers, a stop watch, alarm clocks, movies. TV, radio, play downloaded music, the Web. My kindle is small and light. Camera including videos, banking, shopping. I am thinking about an iPad
Is there anything you do that I do not....
Thanks.

The Nook Color is the best for reading.

It's basically the same thing.
For reading, there is no question, in my mind, that a dedicated e-reader with e-ink beats an iPad or Kindle Fire hands down.
But for all the OTHER awesome things those devices can do, they are, overall, better.
But the real question to ask people is: do you prefer reading with e-ink or on a tablet.
The problem is that tons of people don't understand the question. They don't realize that the traditional Kindle and the Kindle Fire are really apples and oranges.
I have a traditional Kindle and a Nexus 7. I will say that I take my Nexus 7 out with me more often, but for reading it's my Kindle, hands down. I wish I had one of those new ones that I have a backlight when you want it. Also the improved contrast on the newer e-readers is dope.

If you want ALL those things, you have to get a tablet of some kind, which a Kindle Paperwhite is not.
Among the tablets: really, who cares? The differences are all marketing.
The main difference is between ereaders and tablets.
The Paperwhite will be your best choice, hands down, for reading text.
For all that other stuff, tho, you need an LED screen, which means you need a tablet. In that case, just look for which one has the best price. It really doesn't matter.
But I'd recommend that you just get the Paperwhite and do those other things on your laptop until you can get a tablet, too, after the prices on those fall even further.
