Sammy None of the above for me. I've not seen all the movies/read all the above books, but out of those I have, some have exceptionally good movies, but the books are still better. The Green Mile by Stephen King was an unusual one in that the book and the movie were pretty much identical 😆

Ones that do fit the category for me:

The Big Sleep (Philip Marlowe, #1) by Raymond Chandler
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

There are no doubt a few more, but can't think of them off the top of my head.

ETA:

Thought of another one:

The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro , because Anthony Hopkins!

Catherine I chose Harry potter as I honestly could not imagine all that fabulousness that the movies gave. But yes I agree most always books are way better.
Or the movie is exactly identical.

Yeahhhh, books are always better…

But I do love the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" film. Everything looks so delicious, and whenever Jonny Depp is in a film it’s guaranteed to be a banger. I had a fase at nine years old when I borrowed all of Roald Dahl’s children books that were available at the library and read them all right after one another. I don’t know why, but I remember being a bit disappointed with the glass elevator when I first saw the chocolate factory film, as I had expected it to be a lot bigger and be presented in a more meaningful way. Maybe because it plays a major role in the sequel (Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator).

I agree with Sammy! I don't think any of the listed ones were better than the book. The Green Mile was pretty good and spot on with the book.
