Work, life, sleep, distracting myself on social media.

It is so easy to fall into distractions Samantha!

I try to read a little every day, but sometimes life just gets in the way.

Work, work and work. I don't get hours, I have to accumulate minutes through the day.

Several reasons for me, but probably my biggest reason is eye strain.
Surfing is a close second.

Mainly not feeling on the mood because I'm tired from work, but also interruptions are the second one.

Work, life, stress. All that stuff I could do without.

Honestly what kept me from reading for a long time was work while studying, not finding a book that got my attention, my attention span being terrible (luckily I'm working on it now, but it's been though)

Sometimes it would be the book itself, I have been struggling with long hefty reads recently combined with genres/themes I'm not into.

Sometimes, having trouble finding the right book that fits your taste and mood.

I read every day, some days more than others. I’m retired also. Family gatherings and holidays prevent me from reading! But that’s good.

There's no one reason why I might not read. I read too many books last year so am purposely reading less this year so I can focus on doing more with my evenings. The current main reason I don't get around to much is that I've joined Toastmasters and am taking a Pathways so practice my speeches in the evening.

I have a kid so lot of time I have to spend long time with her. But I read whenever I can.

I think I got out of the habit and am now getting back in.

As I learned from “Reader Come Home”, the internet changed how my brain was reading so I had to get over the hump of getting back into books.

Thank God, the brain is so flexible!

I love to sit down with a good book. However, nothing worse than having to stop every few minutes to take care of "stuff", especially if its already been taken care of prior to sitting down; i.e. letting the dogs out, answering already answered questions, etc. You get the jest! Interruptions! LOL.

Distractions, and there are always things to do. I do have to watch out for eye strain (I have chronic migraine) so I do a lot of audiobooks.
