Some books I'll DNF after a moment of consideration, but I hated the Lovely Bones so much to the point that I instantly stopped reading it on the bus and handed it off to some other person.

That was truly horrible! I quit on it too.
I am very glad that I started out with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which my sister gave me. If I had started out with the first one I would have quit too as it is about a 5th grade reading level. Her books got better and better.
