Poll

When would you like to have our next read-a-thon?

Notes:
- We are considering the idea of having a week long read-a-thon where there would be ongoing activities throughout an entire week, allowing members to read whenever schedules allow. So it would not be nonstop reading for a week (that would be insane!) but would hopefully accommodate most of the group.
- If we decide on a single date, then we can nail down a time of day/time zone closer to December
- The poll will remain open until closer to the dates so feel free to change your answer according to popular times.

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) I love the week Idea. Especially since we've only done 2 this year from where things kind of got wonky when we were figuring out who the active Mods were and what was going on!! lol. I'm so ready for a week of non-stop reading *if you don't count work hours lol*

Jody Definitely a week-long one! Especially as we are all in different time zones & have different schedules.

Megan I'd love a week long one, as I always seem to miss significant hours of the 24hr ones!

Joy Could someone explain to me what happens here during a readathon? I am feeling slightly dense.

The idea is that you try to get in as much reading as possible into the time confines. So for a normal 24hr readathon the idea is that you read for as much of the 24hrs as possible. Some people will even stay up all night to get the full time in. As a group there's activities and discussion you can participate in. Ultimately, it's a way to focus on reading and crank out as many pages or books as you can. You can set personal goals, try for personal bests or challenge others if you really wanted to.

Hope that helps explain it!

You can also look under the Read-a-thon section of our group page in order to get an idea of what the activities are like :)
