What should I read next after We Fell Apart

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for books where grief is truly the central theme, not just a subplot or something that mainly supports a romance or another storyline.

I’ve heard that Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors is a great example of a book that really explores grief, loss, and the different ways people deal with it, and I’m looking for something similar.

I’m especially interested in literary fiction with complex characters and nuanced, realistic portrayals of grief. I’m not necessarily looking for stories where grief is quickly overcome or neatly resolved. I’d love books that really sit with loss and explore how it affects people, relationships, and identity. How you live with it and how it affected your life. About loss. Just about grief.

Memoirs are welcome too, but I’m mainly looking for novels.

Pleaseee don't be shy!! What books would you recommend? Or, what books did you find really good about that theme. Or have you gotten recommended ones? Please just let me know.

I think everyone experiences grief at some point(s) in their lives, and I wanna be honest with you, I'm one of those people. And books have always been a safe space for me, so please, help a girl out.

Book recs needed! I'm just going to put in everything I need so I don't have to bombard you with multiple polls. You can comment or add it as an answer:)

1. I've been super irritable recently and being rude. I want something that could help with this and bring more positivity. Something to help learn how not to be on defense and appreciate the good things.

2. A good fantasy, standalone. Preferably no super important characters dying. I want a fantasy that will make me happy. (Bonus points if there is romance)

3. Another self-help, something to help with anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. Preferably not 800 pages, since I don't normally read self-help.

4. Any book that left you feeling super happy or giddy.

I’ve had this idea in mind for quite a while. As you probably know, Goodreads’ algorithm can make it difficult to keep up with everyone’s updates—sometimes posts and reviews get buried among other notifications.

How likely is it I can finish mistborn by Brandon Sanderson in a day? On page 168, started reading at around 1 pm, have only read for like one actual hour and am a generally fast reader (my mom kept calling me to do stuff and then I was working on a research paper for a while and then doomscrolling got me but I’ll probably have like two or three hours to read)?
