Hell,
Unfortunately this is the norm for Chicago south side neighborhoods especially those south side nietighboorhoods like Englewood. Although this is a ficticious park there are plenty of lots like this Englewood. There is a grant/initiative to encourage residents to adopt those deserted plots for I believe they can buy it for $1 and plant gardens and other community spaces but it is not enough. even with the development of Whole Foods (Now closed) and other chain stores. That area is still essentially a food dessert.
“Dude,
Good Jordan. It is a shame you have to be thr teacher but at the same time thanks for not letting that slide. I mean they are in their own neighborhood waiting for a bus. And that bothers the white man that's not from the neighborhood. Like should they wait for the bus in their house? Does the CTA come ring doorbells so people don't have to wait on bus stops and disturb the white man.
Also I wonder where in Englewood are they visiting? The part by 63rd in Halsted by KKC or further west?
“Hear me out,” I continued. “Do you think it’s possible you were so focused on the three Black men that you didn’t notice
Yes Jordan thanks for taking it there with respect but firm. That is exactly what it was if they were on Lincoln Park and it was 3 white boys he would not said anything whether he seen a bust stop sign or not. This needed to be addressed.
“It is for those three young Black men. How people see them through the lens of race impacts how their teachers see them, how police interact with them. Will they see a suspect when he’s the victim or just a guy waiting on a bus? Black people have been killed for less.”
Misdirected gunfire and stray bullets were very real dangers in this community.
Indeed I lost a few classmates and friends by gun violence in the Englewood area. Also one of my good friends was robbed and hit with a gun walking from KKC to the bus stop to go to work. On east 63rd across from the Aldi. Thank goodness he was not shot. But the wound from being hit by the gun was bad. It is sad I'm grateful he was hit my the gun and not shot by the gun. However, it still does justify the race bias by Scott and other especially in law enforcement like him.
“I don’t want to sit out here for thirty minutes,” he said emphatically, with a disquieting expression.
Low key I don't half around in Englewood lol. Don't get me wrong I spent many days and years in that area and have many good friends that are still there but I do understand how Scott feels. Be careful but not racist.
talk
So abrasive. I mean it is a natural question when seeing some one is injured and a show of concern and etiquette. I mean Louise did not have to talk about if she did not want to but that tone was uncalled for. So maybe the commissioner was right lol. But still I didn't like the commissioner's assessment of her. But then again she is a bot rude. lol
our girls and blame them for being victimized. They oversexualize them before they even get their period. Some women are just as guilty as men. It’s not uncommon to hear, ‘She’s acting grown,’ or ‘She’s acting fast,’ or ‘She shouldn’t have been wearing that. She was asking for it. She should’ve known better.’”
daughter.”
that’s heralded in this jewel of the Midwest and certainly within his profession, makes him vulnerable to departmental mutiny. The slightest fissure in his armor, and Fawcett
Eviscerated.
“Yes!” she said, so enthusiastically it startled me. “Yes! We’re on the same page! Let’s do that. I’ll be there no later than five-thirty.”
I mean I am a bit surprised it was that easy in a sense. I mean this was a rough start and Loise is intense but still. Jordan did build some rapport but idk something seems off. Maybe it's my cynical nature lol. I feel like Louise is leveraging Jordan. But again Jordan is doing the same.
Ever since Masey was identified as the victim on the playground, I’d done all I could do to suppress thoughts of my cousins Stephanie’s and Jaden’s deaths at the hands of her abusive ex-boyfriend. It’s been ten years, but there are moments when that feeling of tragic disbelief resurfaces like a light switched on in a dark room.
I think this is an adjacent nod and tribute to Tamron Hall's real life step sister's unfortunately death to domestic violence. May she rest in peace.
“I was going through some photos and I couldn’t believe it, Jordan—out of all these, I only found two pictures of me and Masey together. I guess I was always the one taking the pictures,” she said, emitting a laugh that wasn’t really a laugh. She reached across the table and picked up a five-by-seven picture frame and rubbed her hand affectionately across the glass before turning it around to show it to me.
He attended Dawson Technical Institute on the Near South Side and she was enrolled in Chicago State University.
I know the both of these. We call Chicago State City Colleges University and Dawson is part of the 7 City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) part of KKC (Kennedy-King Colllege) where I graduated from in 2011.
