Even as I write, but perhaps more so in the early 2000s, programmers are predominantly youngish men just a few years out of college, geeks who gulp caffeine to fuel long hours of coding, often against impossibly tight delivery schedules. When tired and short on time, tempers flare, immaturity clobbers professionalism, and disputes, technical or otherwise, come out in the software.
