How you self-identify with your sexuality matters not one wit. What you do in life—what you do to add to the human existence—that is what matters. That is the beautiful thing.
The curse of the “lookers” from school is that they don’t have any incentive to develop any other abilities. This is not a perfect science, but I think it is true. Once I realized that it was good for me to be doing things and making things happen, because doing this made one more dynamic and attractive, I think I tried to make things happen as much as possible.
The path of most resistance—not least resistance—has always been the way I’ve ended up getting from one point in my life to the next. Plotting out the next destination has always been my strategy, even when I didn’t have a fully formed plan of how to get there. It’s made my career incredibly interesting but unfortunately rather slow to show results.
