Chaos often fosters the greatest creativity. Breakdowns often precede the greatest breakthroughs. And when the pain is greatest is often when we’re on the brink of the greatest realization. The ego would prefer that we not look directly into the darkness. It would not have us investigate our pain, for that is when we can learn from it. The ego knows that crisis often leads to that pivotal moment when we fall to our knees and ask God for help. May I be less sensitive to my every emotional cut and bruise, and more sensitive to the pain of others. May the scope of my compassion extend far beyond myself, and include a deeper consideration for hidden suffering in everyone.

I give the present to God that I might dwell within it with greater understanding. I stop seeking to get somewhere, and embrace that in any moment I already am somewhere. I allow the glory of the present moment to bring to me its gifts. I receive them with all my heart.

Dear God, I surrender to You The fear in my heart, That there is not enough, That I will not be taken care of, That all things will go wrong. Transform my thinking That I might see that in You There is only perfection and abundance And I am at home in You. Amen.

I can walk away from my assignments, but I cannot walk away from the lessons they present to me.

When you remember that you’re a spiritual being, that God alone is the source of your power, and that the universe is inherently designed to provide for your needs, then you are thinking in a miracle-minded way.
Why? Because there is a realm of infinite creativity that
exists beyond the mortal mind yet within the Mind of God. This is not fantasy, but rather the spiritual reality of the universe. If you choose not to believe this, that is your choice; if you choose to believe it, that is your miracle.

Character defects are not where we’re bad but where we’re wounded. That does not mean we’re not responsible for them, but only that admitting them should not bring shame.
Often our character defects have their genesis in childhood wounds, but it doesn’t really matter where we got them—they’re ours now. As we admit them and release them, we start the process of their dissolution.

All of us carry within us an infinite potential for greatness.
I will not succumb to limited thoughts about myself today. I know that through God, who lives with me, I am always on my way to something greater than I have known before. The universe is a universe of constant increase, and I am a child of the universe.

May my thoughts and actions today help get us to “enough of us.” May my entire being read, “I’m in.” I choose to be awake, though many slumber. I choose to stand on the truth of love, though many are lost in fear. I choose to be part of the solution, though many are at the effect of the problem. I choose to be a vessel of courage, though accommodation be the order of the day.

And you are blessed “eternally,” which means moment after moment after moment. In any instant, regardless of what has happened in the past, the universe has arranged and is continuing to arrange infinite possibilities for you to prosper.
The universe is programmed to manifest, through you, the highest possibilities for your creativity and joy.
God is intent on your deliverance from all forms of bondage to the freedom of unlimited love.

Today I refuse to blame anyone. No matter what
judgment arises in my mind, I ask spirit to reveal to me another interpretation of events. For what is not love is a call for love, and today I choose to see that in everyone. Thus shall I forge the miracle-worker’s insight, and a miracle-worker’s power. Amen.
DAY 283
When I stop trying to control events, they fall into a natural order, an order that works. I’m at rest while a power much greater than my own takes over, and it does a much better job than I could have done.
Dear God, I surrender to You All I am and all I have. Every thought, every feeling, every yearning, I surrender to You. I take my hands off the steering wheel. Dear God, please drive. Amen.
