But to Graeme, kissing was almost as intimate as the act of lovemaking itself. It wasn’t something to be hurried or to be offered as a token to woo a reluctant lass. It was an expression of regard.
So this was what it was like to be completely at peace, body and soul. To find solace with a woman who was more than just a warm, willing body to lie with.
As he glanced down at her golden head, he couldn’t imagine it any other way. He didn’t want to imagine being without her.
There would never be another woman for him. She was his. His wife. He loved her.
“My lady, I don’t simply care for her. I love her. She is my entire life. Without her, I am nothing. I have nothing.”
He put a finger to her lips, shushing her. Then he followed his finger with his own lips and kissed her, long and sweet, absorbing the sensation of being able to touch her and smell her and drink her in.
