La borra del café
by
"This is the only Benedetti book I have read so far, but it was recommended by a native Spanish speaker to be a good book easy for learners. Indeed, it was a great read and rather easy to read. I was in mid-intermediate level at Instituto Cervantes when I read this book. I did not have to use the dictionary much, though I did not get every word, of course."

En el tiempo de las mariposas
by
"This book was harder to read, mainly because of the longer sentences and a lot of indirect object usage."

10 años con Mafalda
by
"Mafalda is not always an easy read, but certainly a lot of fun. The repetitive nature of the comic strip format will allowyou to learn certain words well. La sopa, anyone?! "

La prueba
by
"I saw the film in Spanish first. The book is different, but pretty simple to follow. Some slang is a bit hard to get, but most things in present tense help."

Palabra del que vuelve (Pinos nuevos) (Spanish Edition)
by
"This book was pretty hard to read, I am not sure why. Alonso is a Cuban writer who lives in Mexico and has written the book in a way that Mexican's would talk, react, act in the situations presented. The language is also Mexican Spanish, which is useful if you are in the USA."
