She’s Come Undone

"I hate the title; I hate the writer's name; I hate the uninspired, cheapo, gaudy cover which feels boringly familiar somehow. I see about 10 copies of this book every time I hit the used bookstores. "

Lord of the Flies

"If this were the only copy of this book ever made, I doubt it would be the classic it is today. Some white words on a black background would be an improvement. F(#K Penguin-- if you're going to encroach upon the front cover, you might as well have the little penguin there like the old days, not the pretense of a cover design. Interesting that this is sort of a "one off" for Penguin cover-wise, like this particular book was singled out for the shit design treatment.

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao

"It's interesting how many recent books are on this list. The cover would give one the idea that this book has an inordinate amount to do with menstruation--pardon me ladies, but count me out.
