Lloyd Hey Garrett,

I'm stuck on a vampire kick and I'm definitely gonna take the books that you've rated here into consideration. It's awesome that you've included the realm of comic books into these, as well. I really enjoyed seeing your picks for the list.

One thing that I've gotta ask: Have you read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles? I'd definitely include at least one or two of those near the top of my vamp fic list. If you've read 'em and didn't dig 'em, that's cool. Just wanted some friendly, intelligent discussion. (If you haven't read them, consider this my utmost recommendation...)

Look forward to hearing your thoughts, man...

Garrett Cook I can't stand Anne Rice's vampires. I feel that they're too flamboyant. I'd actually recommend you check out some nonfiction on vampires and vampire films. I think vampire folklore and movies are more interesting than the fiction. There has really never been fiction that makes vampires as weird and interesting as the Slavic folklore makes them. Check out my Amazon Listmania:

Hope this is helpful for you.

Lloyd This actually WAS very interesting! I'd actually recently given some thought to checking out some vampire nonfiction. I think I've got a book downstairs called "In Search of Dracula" (or something) and I think one of the writers is named Radu Florescu (sp?). Ever heard of anything like that? If so, is it any good? I'll check out some of your recommendations for the nonfiction...

I'll also get myself in front of some of your movie picks when I can.

Thanks for replying! Do so again, if you're so inclined!

OH! Also, where should I buy your first book that it would be the most beneficial for you? Any particular place? I've really been meaning to check it out since first adding you as a friend on here... Let me know where to buy it and I'll check it out soon...

Thanks for everything, man...

Florescu is one of the most prominent vampire scholars on the planet. It's a very interesting read. As I am out of persoanl copies of h8, I'd say the best place to get it would be Amazon, as it brings up the Amazon rank. If you're interested in my work and other Bizarro books and you don't mind reading books on the screen, I'd recommend taking a look at the Black Friday deal on preordering my upcoming book Jimmy Plush, Teddy Bear Detective http://jimmyplush.blogspot.com, it's eight dollars this weekend and I'm sending ebook gifts to bring joy and anticipation alike to those on the preorder list. Thanks for taking an interest!

Lloyd Not a problem!

I'll scope that out on Amazon relatively soon and snatch it up!
