Have you read the Thirteenth Child? If so, is there romance in it? I seem to recall hints of possible romance but nothing concrete.

Ohh, I love this list - will be checking back to it often, I suspect!As for additions, I'm fairly sure that the Bartimaeus books by Jonathan Stroud would qualify (there's a hint of feelings in the third book but that's about it, from what I recall), as would the Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy (no hint of romance until the fourth book and after that, there's no more of it than in the later Harry Potter books).
Also, hmm. Ash Mistry and the Savage Fortress by Sarwat Chadda - I don't think there was romance there. Same with at least the first Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer (I've only read three so far; not sure where it ends up). The Theodosia Throckmorton series by R. L. LaFevers? Again, I've only read the first one, but that was definitely romance-free.
