I liked it. Its a pretty straightforward story. Its an easy read, and doesn't require a lot of thought. but the writing style and the spin on familiar fairy tales make it an interesting read. If you have ever read Ella enchanted (also by Harrison) its very similar in style, though I think this book is geared towards slightly older readers.
Well, I can't really explain it without giving too much away. There is a person a who is turned into an animal. The book is more a romance book than, anything, so its not what people would normally associate with were-beast, but the were-beast plays an important role in the book. I figured that's why people voted for the twilight series, and the were-beast in this book is more of a central character then the wolves are in twilight so I went ahead and put it up there. The same goes for the darkest power series.
Really sounds interesting, I will take a look at it, thanks! What about your other books here can you tell me?
I really liked the the Darkest Powers Series (The Summoning,The Awakening, and The Reckoning) They're set in the in a realistic fantasy world, if that makes any sense. Its essentially the real world, but there are supernatural beings kinda like Twilight's setting, but (at least in my opinion) better thought-out, more intriguing, more consistent, overall just better. The Gathering is set in the same world, but follows different characters, kinda of like a spin-off. I liked it slightly less then the first series because i thought the characters and the world was less developed, but its still a really good book. The Shapshifters is a compilation of 5 books, I really liked the first book Hawksong the others books were slightly worse, but I don't think the individuals books were the problem. there were small plot holes and some details didn't make sense when compared to the previous books. I honestly don't know if i would have noticed them if i read the books a year apart (like i would if i read them as they were published) but reading the books immediately after one another, the inconsistencies are kinda of obvious. Hope this helps and sorry it took so long for me to respond
