BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) It says: "List of great contributions made by Irish authors to the language of their ancestors". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (#105), Günter Grass (#18,) Aesop (#46) and Homer (#66) were not Irish, as far as I know...
Alex Hijmans (#57) is Dutch, lived in Galway for a while, wrote in Irish and translated books into Irish. Still, he's not Irish, like the description says he should be in order to appear on this list...

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) @John
I noticed you've changed the description of the Listopia since my previous comment.

John @John, pedantry aside, this is a great list and a useful resource. Thanks for creating it. AND for having translations into Irish on it.

Davis Personally, I disagree with including translations, either into or from Irish, on this list. Why not have a list that promotes native Irish literature that was written originally in Irish? A language won't survive on translations alone, and those already get more then enough hype among the Gaelo-sphere.

:-) Glad I'm not the only one.
