Book list about or containing references to transmasculine history - spanning from “cross dressers” or “passing women” to biographies and social histories of people recognized as trans afab people. Due to the way our history has been appropriated by cis people over the years and because of the blurriness of the boundaries between gender and sexuality, some of these books may be transphobic or controversial so proceed with caution! I haven’t read all of these (yet) and don’t endorse all their viewpoints but I still think knowing our history is crucial to knowing ourselves. This list is growing!
