Jordan H. Bartlett is an award-winning, New Zealand-born Canadian author with a love for children’s literature and female empowerment. She grew up reading books about boys for boys and found it hard to find a strong heroine she could relate to. Bartlett wrote the Frean Chronicles to give young readers that character she so longed for in a world where gender norms are reversed. Bartlett currently resides in Banff, Alberta where she works as a speech language pathologist and is a certified yoga instructor.

Christie does it again. This time I wasn’t suspecting ghosts but I was SO SURE I had pinned the murderer down and she has the gall to make a point in her narrative to explain exactly why my guess was incorrect! She is a master! She has the ability to ...more

Adored this book. I don’t know how Dumas did it, but he made me sit more on the edge of my seat over a piece of paper and the fate of a tulip than he did for the exciting prisoner escape and capture he opens his book with. Such a rich story, and dear ...more

John Silver
“You got the makings of greatness in you, but you gotta take the helm and chart your own course! Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes, you'll get the chance to really test the cut of your sails and show what you're made of! And... well, I hope I'm there, catching some of the light coming off you that day.”

Ash Bishop
“Sometimes it is easier to see clearly into the liar than into the man who tells the truth. Truth, like light, blinds. Falsehood, on the contrary, is a beautiful twilight that enhances every object.”
Ash Bishop, The Horoscope Writer
